Woonsocket student Premere wins a weeklong vacation at Coldspring Resort with his family! Every year the Kids Klub program holds an essay writing contest, prompting the students to explain why they feel their family should win the free vacation to New Hampshire.
The Kids Klub staff faced a difficult decision, as many wonderful essays were submitted by the students that attend Kids Klub.
Preme’s essay is below:
Hi Kids Klub, my name is Premere I just turned 7 this month. I am in first grade at Leo Savoie. I live with my foster parents Holly and Paul and our dog Harley. I like Kids Klub more than school because I am on the autism spectrum and at Kids Klub I can have fun and be myself. I think our family should go on vacation because we always do fun things together but we have never been on a family vacation and I think we will have fun together if we could go and we could take friends too!
P.S. I can’t read or write yet, so my foster mom wrote what I said. ♥
Premere attends Leo Savoie Elementary School and the Woonsocket Kids Klub program.
For over ten years, as part of the Kids Klub program, Dr. Mary Ann Shallcross Smith and her husband Ron have held this contest and have graciously donated a free, one-week stay at their Cold Spring Resort condominium in Ashland, New Hampshire. “We want families to have an opportunity to enjoy spending time together in a relaxed atmosphere, just like we’ve been able to do over the years,” explained Dr. Shallcross Smith.
Kids Klub is a nonprofit extended day learning program for Before and After School care and summer learning programs. This program operates in North Providence, North Smithfield, and Woonsocket and serves nearly 400 students.
