New out-of-school-time program for elementary students in Lincoln Public Schools
At the July 15th school committee meeting, Lincoln Public Schools announced that Kids Klub was chosen to provide before and after school programming for students at Lincoln Central Elementary School, Lonsdale Elementary School, Northern Lincoln Elementary School, and Saylesville Elementary School. Kids Klub’s before and after school programs will be available starting the first day of school, for the 2024-2025 school year.
Kids Klub is a nonprofit 501(c)3 DHS licensed, nationally accredited, and BrightStars quality rated school age educational program.
A Rhode Island based company, Kids Klub was founded by Dr. Mary Ann Shallcross Smith and Dr. Karen Annotti in 1987.
“Our first Kids Klub program was in my hometown of Lincoln to meet the growing need of working parents,” says Dr. Shallcross Smith.
Amy Shallcross Vogel, Kids Klub’s CEO, was one of the first students to attend Kids Klub in Saylesville Elementary. Kids Klub’s Home Office team is located in Rhode Island, providing support in school age education, curriculum, enrichment, special needs / inclusion, assessment, finance, human resources, marketing and administration. Kids Klub has a positive reputation amongst parents and in the communities they currently serve, due to the quality of care and education.
“Families need to know their children are safe and cared for in a structured, nurturing environment,” said CEO Amy S. Vogel. “Kids Klub is proud to provide children and their families with high quality care and education before and after school. We have strong roots in Lincoln, and we are honored for this opportunity to be back where we first started.”
Lincoln students can receive care and education from 7:00 am to the beginning of school, and immediately following school dismissal until 6:00 pm. Families are encouraged to sign up early. Registration information can be found at kidsklubri.com/enroll.
Students enrolled in Kids Klub programs receive homework assistance, enrichment opportunities, hands-on learning experiences, engaging learning centers, and opportunities to extend learning beyond the school day. Through a partnership with the Therapeutic Child Care Services (TCCS) program, Kids Klub offers families resources to identify students who need support and link them to appropriate services. TCCS offers services in an inclusive, integrated environment by licensed mental health professionals to meet the needs of all children.
Tuition
Kids Klub charges weekly tuition rates and accepts Rhode Island DHS child care subsidy for families that qualify. Child care assistance program subsidies can help make before-and after-school programs accessible for eligible families who may otherwise struggle to find affordable out-of-school-time options.
To defray the cost of child care, Kids Klub accepts the Cabrini Fund (scholarship through the Dioceses of Providence) and Child Care Aware (military assistance). Kids Klub also provides tuition scholarships through the Kids Klub Fund to families that are income eligible, but whose income exceeds the Rhode Island DHS child care subsidy program.
Tuition rates for the 2024-2025 school year are available here, or call our office for more information.
Free & reduced child care
Free child care is available for Kids Klub employees who qualify through the CCAP for Child Care Staff pilot program. This program offers benefits to subsidize the cost of child care for eligible early childhood educators and staff working in DHS licensed child care programs. Reduced child care costs are also available to employees as an employee benefit. Other employee benefits include college tuition reimbursement, 401k with company match, paid time off, paid holidays, health, dental, vision, and consistent schedules (no nights or weekends!).
Hiring staff now
“We’re looking now for teachers to start at the beginning of the school year,” says Kids Klub Executive Director, Alicia Gloria. “Kids Klub prides itself on hiring quality staff that have an interest in supporting their community and working with students during out-of-school-time.”
Kids Klub employees meet DHS requirements, receive a background check (BCI and fingerprints), are CPR and First Aid certified, and all staff complete professional development and training. Interested applicants are encouraged to learn more and apply online at kidsklubri.com/careers.
